  Summary and review of the book

 Brief introduction about Akshat Gupta :  Akshat Gupta is a famous Indian author in Indian publishing industry. He is a screenwriter, poet and lyricist. He is a bilingual author, born in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh.  His debut novel, The Hidden Hindu, blends Hindu mythology with science fiction and adventure, following the journey of Om Shastri, a mysterious Aghori.  He had worked on The Hidden Hindu trilogy for years. According to Wikipedia, "Akshat Gupta is an Indian author known for his mythological fiction series The Hidden Hindu, which blends Hindu mythology with modern storytelling."

Before starting the storytelling, let's see the important characters of this story -

Om shastri - the protagonist of the story, he is an aghori who claims to live from Satya Yuga to Dwapara Yuga and still living.

prithvi - son of Om Shastri, the narrator of the whole story.

Old man - the rival of Om Shastri, his name is Nagendra.

Tej Batra - a talented scientist, who is looking for a cure for his ill wife.

Mrs. Batra -  wife of Tej Batra who also played minor role of narrating the story.

Dr. Srinivasa - team leader of the mission, which is investigating about Om and his background.

Veerbhadra - a loyal team member of the mission who sacrificed his life for the mission.

Dr. Shahistra - a psychologist who has many years of experince in hypnotising patient.

Parashurama - sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu and also one of the eight "Chranjeevis".

Ashwatthama - son of Dronacharya and also one of the eight  "Chranjeevis".

Abhilash - another group member of the mission who has a vast knowledge about Hindu Mythology and Sanskrit.

parimal - another group member of the mission who is innocent kind of and master in History.

LSD - another group member of the mission who is master in technology, she loves challenges.

So let's start the summary of this book :

             The book opens with the conversation of Mrs. Batra and Prithvi ( 20 years old) in year 2041. they talks about om shastri, who is the father of prithvi,  got kidnapped by the team of  Dr. Srinivasa for a secret interrogation about his suspicious life. Because though Om looks young but he claims that he is living since 'Satya Yuga' which is impossible. So the team injected Om with the narco analysis drugs. After taking that no one can lie and will be in control for more than 2 hours but suprisingly Om was waking up after 1 hours. He suprised Dr. Batra by telling all the names of the drugs which are in narco drugs. Om was still no in control after taking 2 or 3 dose of narco. he says, " I will tell you everything. You don't have to hypnotize me." and he truly cooporated with Dr. Shahistra. Later in this story she also grows a sympathetic bond with him. They ask him about his mission, Om says his mission is to "Hide and to be hidden" later we come to know that Om was ordered to hide a precious book. And he is doing this all this Yugas. The team finds out the information about the names that Om utters step by step like - Vishnu Gupta, Sushen, Kabir, Bhairav Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, B.C. Chakraborthy and many more. After the first interrogation, every team members go for lunch, Dr. Shahistra asks Om what he wants for lunch. Om says he is a vegetarian and he don't like cabbage, he will eat potatoes, pulses, green chilli & salt. Surprisingly, cabbage was in their lunch menu when Dr. Shahistra went in the canteen, she was shocked. After their lunch they again started the interrogation. But when the satisfying result was not coming, they tried a new technique. They attach many wires with Om's body so that they can see the visuals of Om's mind in this way Om can not lie anymore. And this worked they can clearly see everything Om says. Om says about how he became Mrityunjaya ? how he meet Sushruta, the Father of Surgery and Dhanvantai, the guru of Sushruta and the prince of Banaras and how he got job of protecting the book of Mrit - Sanjeevani? Om recalls all his past memories about his past lives, he starts from the beginning. As long as he remembers that Kasiraja aka Dhanvanti rescued Om when he was dying in a place and took him in his hut and cured Om with the help of  his disciples - Sushruta, Devdrath and Nagendra. Om also says that he was kept in hunger and thrist for few months for the sake of his recovery. At that time he get to know about all the Indian Ayurveda and its strength. In detalis Om says all about how he is being cured and how much time it took for that cure. At the end he says how he got in that mission of "Hide and hidden". He says that when it was the time when all disciples of Kasiraja will go on their mission to spread their knowledge and to grow their Ayurvedic medicine system but at that time Nagendra, one of the disciple tried to poison Kasiraja, Sushruta including Om. But Kasiraja already knew about his ugly trick, he told them not to eat Kheer which Nagendra brought in tray. And when Nagendra saw that in anger he attacked them with knife. Sushruta tried to hold on Nagendra when he attacked his own guru for greed of Mrit- Sanjeevani. Sushruta told Om to escape that place as soon as possible with that Mrit- Sanjeevani information books and told him to go to the south and also told him to wait for him on hills for a day. Om did as he was told. He waited for one whole year. After returning his old place again, he started crying like an abandoned baby seeing the skeletons of his closer ones scattered all over the place. He realized that he is alone.
